Wolf Begins Deliveries From Distribution Center In Worcester, Mass

(York, Pa.) — WOLF, the largest supplier of kitchen cabinets in the U.S. and a leading provider of building products along the East Coast, announced operations have begun at its new 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Worcester, Mass.

The first trucks rolled out on the morning of April 4, precisely according to the WOLF’s plan to enhance regional service and expand its geographical footprint.

The Worcester distribution center will strengthen WOLF’s logistical capabilities among kitchen and bath and building products dealers in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York.

The Worcester location is the company’s first major facility in New England, according to Tom Wolf, CEO of WOLF and a sixth-generation member of the founding family that still controls the company.

“WOLF has long been recognized for getting our deliveries right — and right on time,” Wolf said. “It required a significant amount of resources, but WOLF also delivered on the promised opening date of our Worcester distribution center. That’s good news for independent dealers in the northeast, who will immediately begin to see the benefits.”

WOLF will offer products available exclusively to independent dealers, including WOLF™ Trimboards, WOLF™ Mouldings, WOLF™ PVC Decking, TAMKO® deck and rail products, and CEVN™ Decking. The company will also deliver its extensive line of kitchen and bath cabinetry from the Worcester facility, which features one acre of outside storage and 10 dock doors. The opening of the distribution center created more than 15 new jobs.

WOLF’s establishment of the Worcester facility follows a series of aggressive moves by the company. In 2009, the company added a major distribution center in Lawrenceville, Ga. In late 2010, WOLF moved its Building Products Distribution Center to an 18-acre site in York, Pa., that doubled its storage capacity. The completion of the company’s geographic restructuring enables WOLF to efficiently deliver products to 3,000 East Coast dealers.

In late 2010, WOLF also modified its core business model, transforming from a traditional two-step distributor to a sourcing company focused solely on the needs of independent dealers. Moving forward, WOLF will continue to develop products and program offerings that enable pro dealers to differentiate from big-box competitors.
