The Modern Era of Kitchen Design

Recently, I commented on Kelly Morriseau’s K+BB Collective’s blog entry, “Global Kitchen Design”, in which she asks designers to provide input on the direction of kitchen design over the next decade. She discusses the next generation of home buyers being exposed to more global concepts than past generations.  Even if they are not actual jet setters, they use the internet and television as a mode of global transportation.   She is already witnessing the “standards” of kitchen design begin to “fray at the edges” to include these new concepts (insert applause here).

Today is the kick off of the 2011 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas.  There will be no shortage of coverage on the latest “up and coming” trends and products in our field.  The Las Vegas Convention Center will be a buzz with excitement!  But, I’m even more interested in hearing your feedback to the question:  What do you foresee for the future of kitchen design?
